Afterschool programs set a NH state record for the most sites playing CATCH Kids Club games simultaneously.
Imagine thousands of kids at afterschool programs all across New Hampshire all playing the same physical activity games in unison.
That’s just what CATCH Kids Club Day achieved…
Afterschool sites from all across New Hampshire participated in the CATCH Kids Club Day record-setting event on November 7th from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. Participating kids exercised to celebrate healthy kids in the granite state!
Here are some of the highlights:
- 31 sites participated
- 1263 total kids – all playing CATCH games simultaneously!
- Total of 26 hours of play time between the 31 sites
- 88 kids along with 96 adults attended the Monarchs Game and carried the flag out on the ice during the National Anthem
Since 2008, funded by the “Growing Up Healthy” Grant from the Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation, the Foundation for Healthy Communities has spread the afterschool fitness and nutrition curriculum, CATCH Kids Club, to 108 afterschool sites across the state. CATCH Kids Club Day was designed to celebrate that achievement!
Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation awards $75,000 grant to the NH CATCH Kids Club Project
CONCORD – The Harvard Pilgrim Health Care Foundation has awarded a $75,000 grant to the Foundation for Healthy Communities for the NH CATCH Kids Club Project. CATCH Kids Club – CATCH being an acronym for “Coordinated Approach To Child Health” – is a successful, evidence-based program promoting physical activity and healthy eating among elementary school aged children in summer, after-school and recreation programs statewide.
